I had just started a new career in healthcare in 2019. Meanwhile, my doctor had become aware of my extremely low white blood cell count. When the pandemic hit, I was told to stop work and perhaps consider a different career. I knew I needed to take control of my health.
I was able to go back to work shortly after the 2020 Food Revolution Summit, but knowing my health issues were autoimmune-induced, working in long-term care during the pandemic had its risks. But following advice from the Food Revolution has helped me feel able to effect changes in my health that have greatly reduced those risks.
I have learned how to listen to my body, making significant steps toward greater health. I am in the best health I have ever been in. I'm still learning, but feel more in control thanks to a better plant based diet.
I'm also more active (walking an average 10 to 15 km per day) and enjoy growing lots of vegetables and greens for awesome smoothies and salads.
